This Translator Agreement (the “Agreement”), including these Terms and Conditions, constitutes a legally binding agreement between you (“Service Provider” or “Translator”) and Babble (“Company”), collectively referred to as the “Parties.” This Agreement governs your provision of translation and related services (“Services”) via the Babble application (the “App”). By providing Services through Babble, you agree to comply fully with this Agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not provide any Services.
Babble does not provide translations for content that falls into any of the following categories:
- Content requiring creative expression or where brand identity and reputation may be compromised
- Safety-critical material where errors could endanger human life
- Texts or audio containing profanity, hate speech, or sexually explicit content
- Any material that is illegal, threatening, or deemed inappropriate under applicable law
Translators are not to translate such expressions and are to immediately flag and report any such content to Babble through the Flag option in the App.
You agree to provide accurate and high-quality text and/or audio translations, reviews, or edits of customer content (“Deliverables”) from a specified source language into the designated target language via the App. We may assess your qualifications via an initial test task. Upon approval, you are free to select assignments from the App, working on one order at a time.
You agree to deliver professionally translated content without alterations (additions, omissions, or modifications), and strictly within the specified timeframes. Interacting or communicating directly with customers is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination and forfeiture of all pending payments. Disclosure of your personal information to customers will also result in an immediate ban.
Payments will be processed monthly through Stripe or PayPal, provided your account balance reaches at least USD $10. Babble retains the right to adjust translator rates without prior notice.
All work must be your original work, and you must not use or disclose any third-party intellectual property without proper authorization. You are responsible for maintaining confidentiality in all matters related to your Services.
The Translator agrees not to use any Confidential or Proprietary Information for any purpose other than to evaluate, perform, and complete the translation services related to this Agreement and any specific assignment or project order.
“Confidential and Proprietary Information” includes, but is not limited to, all translation Deliverables (text or audio or any added features to the app), business operations data, technical materials, financial information, and any personal or sensitive data concerning the Company’s users, customers, employees, or partners. This includes names, contact information, audio recordings, submitted documents, project content, and any other information learned, accessed, or developed by the Translator during the course of providing services under this Agreement.
Confidential and Proprietary Information also covers any information disclosed to the Company in confidence by its customers, partners, or suppliers, which may be shared with the Translator for the sole purpose of fulfilling translation assignments.
The Translator shall implement and maintain reasonable and industry-appropriate measures to ensure the confidentiality and security of all such information, and shall not disclose any Confidential or Proprietary Information to any third party without prior written consent from the Company.
This duty of confidentiality also explicitly applies to all customer personal data included in submitted requests, documents, or audio recordings. These obligations remain in effect during and after the termination of this Agreement.
The Translator represents, warrants, and covenants that:
- The translation services (including but not limited to text and audio interpretation) will be performed with professional skill, accuracy, and care, in accordance with current industry standards and ethical practices applicable to language translation. Translator affirms that the provision of these Services, and participation in this Agreement, will not conflict with any other contractual or legal obligations the Translator may have with third parties.
- Translator possesses the necessary linguistic proficiency, cultural awareness, subject matter expertise, and experience to perform the Services to a high standard of quality and reliability.
- All translated or transcribed content delivered under this Agreement shall be the original work product of the Translator (except where source content is provided by the Company or end-user), and neither the Services nor any work product (including derived content or inventions) will infringe upon, misappropriate, or otherwise violate the intellectual property rights, confidentiality rights, or any other legal rights of any individual, organization, or entity (including the Translator).
- Translator shall not assign or transfer this Agreement, whether voluntarily, by operation of law, or otherwise, without the prior written consent of the Company. Any such attempted assignment or transfer in violation of this provision shall be deemed null and void.
As a translator engaged with Babble, you agree to deliver high-quality and reasonably accurate translations—whether text or audio—in alignment with professional standards commonly upheld in the global translation industry. Your work should faithfully convey the intended meaning of the source material, utilizing either a literal or free translation approach as appropriate to the context of the source content.
Failure to meet Babble’s quality expectations—determined at our sole discretion—may result in immediate termination of this Agreement and/or permanent deletion of your Babble translator account.
You are responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date personal and contact information on your profile. You must notify us immediately of any changes to this information.
Babble actively monitors translator accounts for integrity and security. If we detect potentially fraudulent activity associated with your account, we will inform you of the issue and provide details regarding the suspicious behavior. Please note: engaging in fraudulent activity, even once, may result in the immediate termination of this Agreement and the deletion of your account, without prior notice.
You agree that all rights, title, and interest in any copyrightable material, including but not limited to any translated text, transcribed or recorded audio, or any other deliverables submitted by you to Babble in the course of your engagement under this Agreement, shall be the exclusive property of Babble. This applies to all work created, submitted, or performed by you—regardless of format or language—as part of your services for Babble. You acknowledge and agree that you retain no ownership rights or claims to such material, and you hereby irrevocably assign all such rights to Babble. This clause is binding across all jurisdictions and applies regardless of your country of residence.
The Translator represents and warrants that they are not currently bound by any agreement, contract, or obligation that would conflict with any of the terms or responsibilities set forth in this Agreement with Babble. The Translator further represents and warrants that they are free to enter into this Agreement and to fully perform their obligations under it without any limitations or restrictions.
